Nestled amongst Hiawassee’s rolling hills and horse farms in the shadow of Brasstown Bald, Fodder Creek Cottage blends settlers charm with contemporary elegance. Built in 2007 and winner of five design awards, our mountain retreat provides a perfect getaway for relaxation and romance.

Ideal for couples or a small family, Fodder Creek Cottage accommodates up to seven people. The downstairs offers an open floor plan with gourmet kitchen, great room with stacked stone fireplace and a guest bedroom fitted with a queen-sized log bed, pull-out trundle, and full bath. The luxurious master suite encompasses the second floor, providing a sanctuary within. The suite features cathedral ceilings, stone fireplace, wet bar with refrigerator and microwave, and café seating for two. The king canopy bed was commissioned to reflect the trees viewed from the large windows. A daybed with mountain views creates an idyllic reading nook and sleeps an additional two. The suite also features two bathrooms: one for him with shower, and one for her with a jetted tub and large vanity.

You’ll want to sit for hours on the flagstone and wood patios entranced by the rush of Fodder Creek and the canopy of mountain laurel. The property winds along 500 feet of creek front, with holes deep enough to bathe. Trout have been caught in these spring-fed waters. We trust that Fodder Creek Cottage’s soothing magic will leave you refreshed and restored.

Just minutes from the Cottage door you’ll find beautiful Lake Chatuge (3.6 mi.) with its abundant water sports, downtown Hiawasseee (6 mi.), providing an array of restaurants, shopping and music, and the Georgia Mountain Fair Grounds (8 mi.). Outdoor sports for every taste abound-- golf, hiking, canoeing, whitewater rafting and kayaking, horseback riding, etc. Short drives to the Bavarian village of Helen, historic Hayesville, and the Cherokee valley towns make Fodder Creek Cottage a perfect home base for exploring the region’s diverse charms.
